Description

Children’s cancers are rare with 4,843 new cases of cancer diagnosed in 2010–2014. Diagnosis can be difficult, as many symptoms are the same as those that occur in common and less serious illnesses.

Adolescents and young adults who survive their first cancer are at increased risk of other late effects, such as impaired fertility, hormone deficiencies, heart or lung problems, and hearing or vision problems.
